This poster was for Black History Month and inspired by the first African American to enroll at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 1960. James Meredith wanted to end a system of white supremacy. The color palette is reflective of the college’s colors. I drew the Lyceum building on the Ole Miss campus, ripped the paper in half, wrinkled it up, and scanned it into the computer for an “old newspaper” texture and feel. I then added a bitmap texture to the entire poster. I wanted to do him justice in a simple yet effective way for what he did for America.
